    How to setup a Wordpress website?



    Beginners guide

    1. Buy a domain name.
      1. Check Youtube videos on how to buy domain .You can buy domain from any DNS provider like Godaddy, Bigrock.
    2. Buy a hosting server.
      1. A hosting server is a database which stores your website files and processes the requests which are requested by website users.
    3. Install Wordpress file in your hosting server file manager.
      1. You can learn it easily on Youtube.
    4. Create a website
      1. Create logo according to given dimensions in a template.
    ■     Upload logo to the website
    ■     Appearance > Customize > Site identity >Site name
    ■     Add logo at Appearance > Customize > Header  > Site name
      1. Add tagline.
    ■     Appearance > Customize > Site identity > Tagline
      1. Create menu.
    ■     Appearance > Customize  > Menus
      1. Create pages & categories.
    ■     In pages creation hide page name if you want more clean of your website
    ■     Hiding page name is only possible if you design your website using ocean-wp theme.
      1. Add top bar content which includes contact details and social icons.
    ■     Appearance > Customize > Top bar
      1. Add footer section content.
    ■     Place logo.
    ■     Services menu or website menu or product menu.
    ■     Contact info.
    ■     Social share icons.
    ■     About us.
    ■     We can include any widget or content which will represent the theme of the website.
    ■     Add footer widgets in widgets section.
    ■     Appearance > Customize > widgets  > footer
    ■     You can change your footer in footer settings.
    ■     Appearance > Customize > footer widgets
      1. Styling the menu
    ■     Changing the menu colors according to theme of the website.
    ■     If you want you can change font also . Change the font & colors in Appearance > Customize > Header  > Menus
      1. Set the primary theme color of the website
    ■     Change the theme color by following steps
    ■     Customize > General options > general styling > primary color (also change hover color)
      1. Set scroll to top button in general options
    ■     Customize > General options > scroll to top
      1. Now change home page settings if required
    ■     Change the default homepage and blog page if you want to customize your homepage design. E.g: if you are building your own pages using elementor page builder plugin
      1. Now check all the other customizations options thoroughly before delivery the website to your client.
    1. Publish your website.
    2. Change permalinks to “website.com/%category%/%postname%” for easy to understand urls.
    3. If you want you can add contact forms/feedback forms.
    This is the generalized way to build a Wordpress website in any way. The different way of creating a Wordpress website.
    ●     Using a theme completing without only minimal customization.
    ●     Building website from scratch using ocean-wp theme & elementor page builder.
    ●     Building a website with a  suitable theme and creating pages of that website using elementor page builder kind of hybrid of both the above ways.You can install multiple themes and uninstall themes and use those themes created pages in other theme to increase your customization and features.
    I will make separate notes for different kind of websites.

    Wordpress web designing using custom theme designing from core.

        Procedure

    ➔   Install ocean-wp theme
    ◆    Appearance > themes > add new  > search ocean wp and install theme
    ➔   Plugins required
    ◆    Ocean extra-for extra options to manage page settings (works only with ocean wp theme)
    ◆    Elementor-custom page builder plugin
    ◆    Classic editor - makes interface simple and easy to use
    ➔   Create and design the pages using templates and your own styles also
    ◆    We can use tyler.com templates also.
    ◆    Sizzify lite template plugin also.
    ◆    We can also create own templates
    ●     To design a page Dashboard > pages > page > edit page with elementor
    ●     Then edit in elementor page builder
    ●     In elementor you can upload tyler.com templates also or add any other useful elementor templates plugins.
    ●     E.g: Sizzify lite, essential addons for elementor, Premium addons for elementor.
    ➔   If we want to use Elementor for already designed themes i.e., themes other than ocean-wp then go with Zakra themes(normal website themes) or Colormag themes(magazine/news/blogs sites).
    ◆    Both themes contains different themes to unlock more themes from the above two themes use Theme grill demo importer(plugin) to import new theme in the existing theme.
    ➔   For magazine sites go for Colormag in my opinion it is the best one right now !

      1. Premium addons for elementor
      2. Essential addons for elementor
      3. Sizzify lite plugin
      4. Smart slider 3 - slider plugin, can also be used in other page builders.
    3. Yoast SEO - search engine optimization plugin.
    4. Simple social share - social media icons and widgets plugin.
    5. Click to tweet - allows to insert click to tweet option in between articles.
    6. Ad inserter - helps to insert adds in the website.
    7. Smush - image compression plugin helps in page load speeds.
    8. W3 total cache - website cache plugin, increases load speeds of the website also helps in SEO.
    9. Sucuri - stops from hacking attacks on your sites.
    10. Amp for wp - to make mobile friendly website pages, also helps in SEO.
    11. A3 lazy load - loads the remaining invisible parts of the page only when we scroll to those portions.
    12. Really simple SSL - ssl certificate plugin, also helps in SEO.
    13. Schema - provides all in one rich snippets.
    14. TC product catalog plugin.(for e-commerce website)
    15. Woo commerce plugin.(for e-commerce website)

    2. Install Woo-commerce plugin for ocean-wp or normal themes.
    3. Design theme similarly like a normal website as stated in first page of this notes.

    General Wordpress SEO tools

    I follow so many SEO guides, but I recommend methods used by Neil Patel & Intellectual Indies. They both have so many similarities so do check both the methods.  Before that checkout my steps.

        My (Yoga Nrusimhaa’s) method :

           ●     Use good hosting because page speed matters very much
           ●     Find a good & suitable name for your website, try to frame your website using the top       keyword of your topic.
           ●     Design the UI  carefully
    ○     Easy to navigate
    ○     Simple to understand
    ○     Good looking layout
    ○     Font & buttons should look clean
    ○     Eye catching graphics & pictures
           ●     Create internal links
           ●     Get an ssl certificate
           ●     Increase page speeds by using different type of plugins and using light theme if possible.
    ○     W3 total cache
    ○     If you design your own theme try to use less plugins
           ●     Check mobile friendliness
           ●     Use good keywords
           ●     Do SEO for every image you upload
           ●     Use click to tweet and social share plugins
           ●     If possible create backlinks
           ●     Fill all the necessary columns like meta data etc..
           ●     Create subscription by sending email notifications
           ●     Use onesignal push notifications to send notifications when you upload a new article
           ●     Social media
    ○     Maintain social media pages for your website so that you can engage & interact more with people
    ○     Share every article on your social media pages and groups
    ○     You can also write answers in Quora and send traffic to your website
           ●     Use smush image compression plugin because it decreases load on your server

    1.    How to write an article
    a.    Do keyword research on the topic which you want to write.

    b.    Then do research about the topic.
    c.    Then compile the content and write the article.
    2.    Yoast seo plugin for wordpress users.
    3.    Fill alt text in before uploading images.
    4.    Also add metatags to the images.

                                                     ii.        You can see performance, SEO , and many more reports of your website.
    c.    Check problems and try to rectify them.
    6.    Mobile friendly website.(do mobile optimization )
    a.    Check mobile compatibility.
    b.    Wordpress users can install AMP for wp plugin.
    7.    Do speed check
    a.    Using google audit, this is included in step 5.
                                                      i.        Inspect element > audits > run audit > get report and rectify problems.
    8.    GT metrix another auditing tool.
    9.    Use caching plugin.
    a.    Wp rocket ( paid )
    b.    W3 total cache ( free plugin )
                                                      i.        On minification
                                                     ii.        Test this using different settings by testing by auditing.
    10. Add internal links.
    a.    Promoting other from current articles.
    b.    Link up to 20-30 internal links.
    11. Use ssl
    a.    If not do it using really simple ssl plugin for free.
    12. Fill title, meta, links (think strategically and stand apart from competition)
    a.    Everything should contain good keywords content.
    13. Off page optimizations.
    a.    Create backlinks
    b.    Use ahrefs tools.
    14. Do guest blogging on other websites and link them to your website.
    15. Use operators and check results.
