Today at an event in India Xiaomi has launched their new smartphone Redmi Y2 which is succesor to Redmi Y1 which was already launched in China as Redmi S2.
This smartphone is a selfie centered smartphone having a 16MP selfie camera.Xiaomi at the launch saying that they have received more sales in the selfie smartphones race and Redmi Y2 became No.1 selling selfie smartphone in India.
Going to the specifications it has 5.99-inch hd+ 18:9 IPS lcd Display,comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Soc,dual rear camera setup 12MP PDAF + 5MP depth sensor which is found in Redmi note 5 pro,front camera is a 16MP sensor with Auto HDR, AI Bueaty , Selfie Portrait mode and all this is powered by a 3080 mAh lithium-ion battery with micro USB port.The smartphone comes with MIUI 9.5 based on Android Oreo 8.0.It also has a front facing flash.
This smartphone also has a dedicated sd card slot means no storage issues.
Here the smartphone has two Ram variants i.e., 3 GB Ram with 32 GB internal storage and 4 GB Ram with 64 GB internal storage.This smartphone comes with AI face unlock and also has fingerprint scanner at back.Here rear camera has AI to help in low light photography.It also has Xiaomi's Trademark feature IR blaster.
Xiaomi is marketing it as selfie centered smartphone but it looks to be good all rounder in budget segment with good rear camera for price and has a good performing processor which can handle graphic intensive games too.But it has HD display not a FullHD seems to be a down,but as it is a Y series smartphone we shouldn't care about it because Y1 also came with a HD display.Compared to Redmi Y2 is good upgrade and there is also upgrade in price but it worth it.
